SENSING THE SPIRIT, MOVING FORWARD

pam May 27th, 2008

(a congregational mini-retreat)

As the summer begins, we’ll be taking some time on an extended Sunday morning to talk, pray, discern, and worship together.  Each voice is important, and everyone’s presence invited.

Sunday, June 8
9:30 a.m.- 1:00 p.m.
(snacks and child care provided)

Stan Dueck, Area 1 Congregational Life Consultant will lead us in discerning and naming directions for the future.  We’ll be paying attention to
…describing ourselves
…determining focus for the coming five years
…creating a clear statement for Hyattsville Mennonite Church about what form(s) of collaboration we’d like
to consider with them

Come listen for the Spirit, share your perspective, and take the next steps on our unfolding congregational journey!
Congregational Business Meeting — November 11 — Make a special effort to be present!

pam November 6th, 2007

This meeting’s agenda will include receiving written reports and considering the proposed 2008 budget. The greater part of the time will be spent talking about the future, about our relationship with Hyattsville Mennonite Church, and about how we would like to proceed in considering possibilities for further collaboration.

Your presence is invited and needed. Please come. If you will be hungry before 1:30, by which time we will adjourn, you may want to bring a snack or bag lunch to eat as we talk.

Partnership Possibilities Survey

pam November 6th, 2007

This week, you should receive a QUESTIONNAIRE in the mail, which we are asking all of you to complete and return to the church. In response to Board discussions, and to the process of exploring collaboration with Hyattsville Mennonite Church, we are surveying church members and active participants about our priorities and thoughts re: the future.

There will be two immediate chances to talk with each other about these things…the first during next week’s Congregational Business Meeting (11/11/2007), and the second, around tables following our Nov. 18 Thanksgiving Dinner.

The focus of the survey is on our building and property, which serve our mission.
