Children and youth
Sunday School
—Making connections between faith and life, our program offers classes for preschool (two and up),  kindergarten, primary, middler, junior high, and senior high aged kids. We collaborate in teaching and learning with Hyattsville Mennonite Church, neighbors who join us in our building for the Sunday school hour.

Children in worship—Each Sunday, during the morning worship service, younger children are invited to come forward for a story, puppet show, or other special focus that draws them into the time of worship.

Youth Fellowship—High-school aged youth gather for movies, discussion, meals, retreats, or special trips (like the one we took to Colorado last summer for the Church of the Brethren National Youth Conference and camping and hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park afterward.)

Music—Organ, piano, solo instrumentalists, recorded music, and a seasonal choir add rich variety to worship. Occasionally, bells or rhythm instruments are also used. We welcome musicians who may add new styles and gifts to our shared worship.

Study—Adult Education classes are held each Sunday (also jointly with Hyattsville Mennonite Church.) Most integrate presentations, discussion, biblical insights, and contemporary issues. This year’s topics include:

  • Living Faith in Cross-Cultural Settings
  • The Bible and Our Lives
  • Parenting
  • Global Warming & Environmental Stewardship
  • Thanksgiving Traditions
  • Sports and Faith
  • Conversations on Being the Church
  • Health Care and the Faith Community

Small groups—From time to time, small groups form around a particular interest, and meet for a time. In recent years, groups have come together to explore efforts at building simplicity and sustainability into our lifestyles, to join in witness for peace, and to share in spiritual support and prayer.
